SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!
Women at The Well is Camden Mayor’s Charity for 2026-2027
Women at The Well is absolutely delighted to have been chosen as the Mayor’s Charity for 2026-2027 by Camden’s new Mayor, Councillor Tricia Leman.
Women at The Well’s CEO Sarah Green said:
“We are so very honoured to have been chosen as the new Camden Mayor’s charity. This is a powerful recognition of the importance of the work we do every day in King’s Cross and throughout the borough.
“Councillor Leman has visited our women-only day centre and told us how profoundly moved she was by both the needs of disadvantaged women in our community, and the work we do to support women.
“We hope to have a year of getting the message out about our work and the help we can offer to women. and we hope to make new connections with lots of our Camden neighbours in all lines of work.
“Our mission is to support women who are trapped in prostitution and other forms of sexual exploitation, including those who been trafficked. We work with women who face a lot of disadvantage and exclusion in a city which is wealthy and thriving for many others. Our approach of keeping an open door, providing hot meals, showers, laundry and clothing without appointment, and doing long-term one-to-one work with women does work when other safety nets have failed.
“Councillor Leman’s choosing of us for her charity shows real solidarity with local women who have often faced difficulties since their childhoods. We will use this year of spotlight with the Mayor to show that dedicated, one-to-one support is the key to no woman being left behind in Camden.
“If you are a local business, employer, community worker or resident and you want to know more about what we do, and how you can help, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We can make Camden a place where women of all ages and backgrounds have better, safer futures.”
