Support a Safer Winter for London’s Most Vulnerable Women

From the 1st to the 8th of December, Women at The Well is taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge to raise funds to expand our outreach to support more women facing homelessness, sexual exploitation, and poverty in London.

During this campaign week, your donation will be doubled, meaning double the difference.

Join us in our mission to keep women safe. None of the harm they experience is inevitable. Together, we can make real change.

The Situation:

Winter is one of the most dangerous times of year for many of the women we support. Sleeping rough, living in unsafe accommodation or being exploited to survive leaves women at greater risk of violence, illness and isolation. Many avoid mainstream services because of trauma or fear. In 2025, our outreach team engaged more than 650 women across London, and demand continues to rise as poverty, homelessness and exploitation deepen.

The Solution:

Our specialist outreach workers go directly to women where they are — on the streets, in temporary accommodation and in hidden locations where exploitation often occurs. We build trusting relationships over time, providing food, clothing, welfare packs, emotional support and practical advice. Women are then supported to access safe accommodation, healthcare, benefits and specialist advocacy, helping them move from immediate crisis towards safety, stability and hope.

  • Reach women experiencing homelessness and sexual exploitation who might not otherwise access support

  • Help more women begin to recover from trauma and move towards safer, healthier and more independent lives

  • Provide practical winter essentials including food, warm drinks, welfare packs and emergency support

  • Build trusting relationships through regular outreach, reducing isolation and increasing engagement

  • Support women to access safe accommodation, healthcare, benefits and specialist services
